THE FESTIVAL
The first edition of the Guará Mapping Festival took place in July 2021, as a fully independent initiative. The selected works were projected onto the façade of the old water reservoir located at Morro do Cristo in Guaratuba (PR), a historic landmark overlooking the sea.
The festival aimed to highlight artworks that engaged with the local context, addressing themes such as environment, culture, and society.
The program featured two participation categories: SHORTS (videos and animations up to 2 minutes long) and 1FRAME (still images such as photographs, illustrations, and visual artworks). Five finalists were selected in each category.
The jury included prominent names from the audiovisual and video mapping scene, such as VJ Vigas, VJ Spetto, Manolo Fraga, VJ Picles, Rodrigo Alonso, and Gabriela Vernet.
Technical infrastructure was provided by Lumen Audiovisual, ensuring high-quality and precise projection of the works.
Among the prizes offered to participants were licenses for some of the most renowned videomapping software tools, including MadMapper, Modul8, Resolume Arena/Avenue, HeavyM, Chaser, and StageFlow.
